From 30 years experience of teaching the organ to pianists, Rosemary Field has written 3 volumes of study preludes each addressing an aspect of technique and based on a hymn or plainsong theme. The purpose of these is to get right into the specifics of organ technique, and to teach new brain-paths without requiring too many notes (most pieces are only a couple of pages long.) Each prelude is introduced with careful instructions about how to tackle it, and the set is cumulative. The product descriptions list techniques taught in each prelude so you can select what you need without having to buy the whole set.
The musical language is angular but tonal; none is below Grade 4 piano and Book 3 is Diploma standard.
